Description
Samara is a display of beauty of the optical qualities inherent in glass. Glass, like water, has the ability to refract light and with Samara I wanted [sought/aspired] to recreate the natural phenomena of light refracting off ripples in water. Through a process-driven exploration I experimented with making thick sculpted textures in glass that could catch and project light onto walls or nearby objects. After trying many different textures I successfully found the one that recreated the water-rippling effect that I was looking for. I hope that after you see it you'll agree.
