Description
The Art Deco period peaked in popularity in the first half of the 20th century, spreading across Europe and the United States up to the start of World War II. Characterised by its bold geometric shapes, rich materials and luxurious aesthetics, Art Deco transformed the way we perceive interior spaces. Incorporating Art Deco furniture pieces into spaces is a brilliant way of gracefully achieving the era's essence of luxury and glamour.
Art Deco is a testament to the fusion of clean shapes and elegant ornaments, and this ethos is beautifully exemplified through this pair of armchairs. This timeless pair is a true embodiment of the Art Deco style. The incorporation of the soft curve of the chairs' armrests effortlessly balances their otherwise angular body, creating harmony and charm. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, their geometric shape is further highlighted by the material choice, in a soft, almost pastel-like green colour, and by the design of the upholstery. Through the soft material and subtle curves, the designer managed to imbue a gentle feel into a big and bold piece. To live up to the style’s rich history rooted in opulence and comfort, this pair has fully upholstered sides and backs. The thick cushions, both on the seat and on the backrest, contribute to the comfort and cosiness, along with the slightly reclined rectangular back and robust square wooden legs.
The mix of the material, colour, form and quality elevate these armchairs from simple seating pieces into fine representations of their era and design. Classic, yet unique, this pair can add a touch of glamour to any interior.
