Description
DIMINUTIVE COLORLESS GLASS & BRASS PENDANT HALL LANTERN
English or American, 1830-1845
The circular blown glass canopy above the bulbous, trumpet shade which hangs from three chains connected to leaf-shaped hooks springing from the stamped brass bezel which holds the top of the glass shade, which is partly frosted and having copper-wheel engraved floral and geometric designs. The bottom of the shade is fitted with a stamped brass frame holding a removable brass ventilator with candle cup above and finial below. An (original) glass oil lamp with wicks and oil comes fitted into the candle cup.
Overall H: 21” Diameter 7” Glass shade: H: 8.75” Diameter: 6.25”
Condition: Excellent: Surviving in perfect original condition. -
