Description
This exquisite Veca vanity mirror is a true statement piece, perfect for adding luxury to your powder room or entryway. The rectangular design features a warm brass-colored, gold mirrored glass panel, then secured by polished steel clips a circular mirror at the center that has a touch of antiqued patina (desilvering). This subtle aging gives it an irresistible vintage charm.
But the real showstoppers? The built-in Murano glass sconces flanking the sides! These half-cylinder sconces, held in place by matching polished steel clips, boast stunning clear glass with a bold stripe of brass-orange glass running vertically from top to bottom. The mirror's porthole-inspired look, reminiscent of an ultra-luxurious ship, combined with the gleaming sconces, makes this a one-of-a-kind piece.
The mirror is a proud product of the 1960s and still flaunts its original foil Veca sticker on the back, a hallmark of its authenticity. Veca, an Italian company known for combining sleek, mid-century designs with high-quality materials like chrome, glass, and metal, excelled in lighting and decor. This mirror is a shining example of their craftsmanship.
A Little History on Veca and Murano Glass Veca made a name for itself in the 1960s and 1970s, producing sleek, modernist lighting fixtures that often incorporated glass and metal elements. Meanwhile, Murano glass, dating back centuries, has been handcrafted on the Venetian island of Murano. Known for its exceptional quality and vibrant colors, Murano glassmaking is a celebrated art, producing everything from delicate chandeliers to bold, modern sconces like those seen in this masterpiece.
Elevate your home with this rare Veca mirror, a beautiful fusion of vintage charm and iconic Italian design. While sometimes these mirrors can be found in Rome, finding another stateside is very rare -- and this design?? Gushworthy! -
