Niti Side Table in Tiger Maple

This striking Niti side table is a customized version of my previous walnut versions which are also listed here. It is constructed in all solid tiger maple and dyed to match my client's color specifications with a black dye on the drawer front and a custom dye elsewhere. The dimensions were also customized (taller).
The main features of the design include visible/exposed drawer sides (see images) with the drawer sliding smoothly on notched and shaped wooden rails. The rails are hand-sculpted with curves both on the underside and face. The blackened drawer front is notched into the front legs lending a distinctive stance to the table and a distinctive detail. There is a finger purchase/pull routed into the underside of the front.
The shelf is secured into the lower side rails with visible ebony pegs, consistent with all-solid wood construction.
The slim taper of the legs, minimal thickness of the top and shelf, and fine details make for a very elegant and highly functional piece.
