French 19th Century Walnut Desk-Side Table
-
Description
Petite, French occasional table or desk from circa 1840, of solid walnut. The style is refined and restrained: nearly two centuries of use have left the expected patina on the top surface, which is punctuated by an inlaid square patch from an old repair. In the apron is a small drawer, opened by an angular brass drop pull, echoing the geometric cuts along the bottom edge of each side of the apron. Four squared and tapered legs are carved in a fluted pattern, referencing Neoclassical and Louis XVI themes. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax this unique table is ready for your interior.
