A bronze vessel cast and patinated in imitation of a bamboo hanging flower basket, the base in ajiro-ami (twill plaiting), the sides in gozame-ami (mat plaiting), with a wrapped rim and a twisted hanging loop; signed underneath with a cast seal mark Hotoku (or Yasunori) followed by a kaō (artist’s monogram)

With a wood tomobako storage box, the exterior inscribed: Kaki (Flower Vessel); the interior with a long inscription by the famous bronze artist Hata Zōroku III (1885/6–1932) praising this piece and its maker, dated 1917
