This rare and highly sought after champagne cooler was designed, and signed by Jean Després. A notable creator in the Art Deco Style, he began his career in the early 1920s, exhibited in the Paris Exposition of 1925 and his work was favored by those in the fashion industry and his clients included Coco Chanel and Elsa Schiaparelli.

His silver and jewelry work is refined and mixes elements of delicate detail with a masculine sensibility and use of chain links , columns and spheres as a decorative element.
