Description
This oak and straw armchair carries with it the same beloved modernist characteristics applied to American, Scandinavian, and Italian mid-century design – simple, functional and shows the beloved rustic side of the era. This charming piece embodies an aesthetic that is organic and cosy in its simplicity while not compromising on comfort and functionality.
The armchair features a harmonious blend of natural materials, combining the strength of oak with the comfort of woven straw. The oak frame gives the chair durability and timeless elegance. Its rich grain and warm tone highlight the natural beauty of the wood, while its construction provides a stable and reliable structure. The square design of the chair also reinforces its sturdiness. The backrest and seat, displaying a classic woven pattern, offer a rich textural contrast to the smooth oak. Thanks to the straw's natural flexibility, comfort is ensured without the need for additional cushioning. Furthermore, the rather deep seat enhances the sitting experience even more, allowing the sitter to choose their desired position. Together, the two materials create a juxtaposition of textures, elevating the design to more than its functional purpose.
A true testament to the creativity and innovation that defined French furniture design in the 1960s. This chair is perfect for bringing a touch of organic charm into any space, embodying the perfect balance of form and function through quality materials and a skilled craftsman.
