Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Kathy Hoets moved to California at the age of 10. Her life and artistic journey have taken her across the world, from New York City and Geneva to Bali, where she wrote and illustrated her first children's book, Erik's Garden in Bali.
Kathy’s work is deeply personal and abstractly autobiographical, blending vivid memories with expressive brushstrokes. She specializes in two distinct artistic ventures:
Pet Portraits in Oil – Capturing the unique spirit of beloved pets, Kathy offers both prints of existing works and commissioned paintings for new, custom pieces.
Paintings on Steel – Fusing color, texture, and movement, Kathy creates dynamic works on steel, available as both original paintings and prints, with commissions also open for bespoke creations.
Her paintings pulse with life, whether depicting the intricate layers of nature or the essence of her subjects. Kathy’s ability to bring depth and contrast to her compositions—whether on canvas or steel—results in truly immersive and evocative artwork.
