Description
A superb example of early 20th-century French travel craftsmanship, this handsome black leather-clad trunk features a robust wooden structure reinforced with brass and iron hardware. Designed for durability and elegance, the trunk is adorned with brass corner protectors, metal strapping, and a striking decorative brass monogram plaque reading M.B.B., adding a personal touch and historical intrigue.
The front showcases two large brass latches and a central lock, framed by a charming brass studded design that enhances its character. A beaded brass chain detail drapes across the front, contributing to the trunk’s refined aesthetic. The interior reveals a spacious storage compartment, lined with its original worn black surface, indicative of age and authentic use.
This versatile and stylish piece can be used as a decorative storage solution, coffee table, or statement accent in a vintage or industrial interior. With its rich patina and travel-worn charm, this French trunk embodies the romance and adventure of early 20th-century voyages while serving as a practical and stylish addition to any space. - More Information
