Description
Guillerme et Chambron, Rare Sideboard in Oak from the early period of French company "Votre Maison".
France, Circa 1955.
Here is an oak Credenza designed by French creator duo Robert Guillerme and Jacques Chambron.
This important sideboard shows an impressive solid oak structure perfectly proportioned in his length and height and has four opening doors. As the sideboard is from the early period of the company, we can clearly feel the inspiration and influence of the french Art deco style and some patterns that were used in the 40's by the great decorators such as the legs' shapes on each side that could be reminiscent of André Arbus' work among others.
The top and the doors show a square graphic pattern due to the inlaid oakwood veneer, adding a visual geometrical excitement to your interior.
This sideboard in mint condition is ideal for a centerpiece in a living room or a bedroom. The combination of the natural color waxed oak and the forged metal hinges create a beautiful look perfect for any sophisticated interior decor and environment.
This piece of furniture is equipped with these two perfectly functional original lock boxes and each key is unique and numbered.
This credenza is a great demonstration of the fine craftsmanship that characterizes the work of the french company "Votre Maison" and the french designer duo Guillerme and Chambron.
Exceptional and excellent condition.

Bio :
Jacques Chambron (1914-2001) and Robert Guillerme (1913-1990) started the company "Votre Maison" postwar. Robert Guillerme studied design and architecture at the École Boule and graduated first in his class in 1934. Meanwhile, Jacques Chambron graduated from the School of Applied Arts in Reims. The two designers met and became friends during the Second World War. After the war, in 1948, Chambron resigned from his job as a painter and decorator in Paris to move to Lille, in the North of France and join Guillerme. A year later, the two met cabinetmaker Émile Dariosecq, who was the owner of a workshop close by. It was during this meeting, that the three men decided to create their own company, "Votre Maison" was born a year later in 1949. In french “Votre Maison” means “Your Home”, which became the soul of the company.
Throughout their career, ‘Votre Maison’ produced over two thousand models, leaving a lasting mark in the world of design. -
