French 19th Century Walnut Desk
-
Description
Dimensions: 29 ½” H x 64 ⅝” W x 28 ⅜” D
A strapping French 19th century solid walnut desk to anchor an office, library, or study with its reassuring presence and beautiful patina. The smooth top planks are arranged in a classic, “breadboard” formation, with a slight dip in the center from time and use–adding to the charm of this antique that was built to last generations. Two large drawers occupy the apron, opened by brass knobs where there once would have been locks. Four columnar legs support the table widening at the base and ending in oversize feet. A slight warp to the back right legs is not immediately noticeable and does not affect the stability of the piece. Cleaned, tightened, and polished with a French paste wax this antique desk-table is ready for your interior. Please view the detailed images.
