Description
An impressive sculpture of a male Industrial Steelworker in the Social Realism style. Social realism is the term used for an art movement that flourished in Europe between the two World Wars. In order to make art more accessible to a wider audience artists created realistic portrayals of workers as heroic symbols of strength during a period of hardship after the Great Crash. Reminiscent and similar to American WPA. This sculpture is 28" tall, signed on the base H. Surth & mounted on marble. This is a large beautifully sculpted work of art in perfect condition.
