Description
A beautiful minimalist wall clock, dating back to around 1920, designed by Adolf Loos (1870–1933), manufactured by Junghans Germany. This clock stands out with its unmistakable octagonal case, crafted from lacquered sheet iron. The casing is finished with a glaze intended to imitate wood grain—a beautiful and characteristic detail typical of the period. The clock features black metal hands and a white enameled dial with hand-painted black numerals, protected by glass set within a round golden brass ring. The dial is signed Junghans.
The clock is in very good condition for its age, showcasing a charming patina. The manual winding movement has been professionally cleaned and serviced by a watchmaker and works flawlessly. The clock winding key is includued. Beyond its significance, this clock is a decorative statement and a fine example of Adolf Loos minimalist design and the Viennese Modernism.
