Wonderful Italian painting from the second half of the 17th century. Oil on canvas artwork depicting a splendid Virgin in prayer, a typical devotional representation presumably made for a private client. Painting of notable pictorial quality, in fact the sumptuous drapery, the plastic rendering of the hands and the refined chromatic balance are to be highlighted. 20th century frame in carved and gilded wood, with small missing parts and signs of aging (see photo). Painting already restored with re-lining, replacement of the frame and re-colouring in some places. Overall in good state of conservation. Interior size H 63.5 x W 46 cm.
