Pair of French Louis XVI style gilded bronze wall lamps
-
Description
A pair of mid-20th-century French wall lamps. Exceptional size and quality, crafted from gilded and chiseled bronze in the Louis XVI style. A three-light wall lamp of considerable weight (approximately 30-40 kg each), it has to be mounted on the wall with a solid anchor. The body supporting the lights is shaped like a quiver, with a small decorative pine cone at the bottom. On the back of the pine cone is a monogram F.V., a reference to the manufacturer (see photo, currently being studied). The rich floral decoration with garlands is very well executed, both in terms of gilding and chiseling (see photo). Fabulous decorative objects for antique dealers and interior decorators, in good decorative condition. No cracks or missing parts. The electrical system needs to be revised.
