1930s Carl Aubock Large Art Deco Jewelry Storage Cigarette Box, Roll Top, Vienna
-
Description
A rare, curved and large Art Deco storage box, jewelry box, or cigarette dispenser featuring a roll-top lid with a small brass handle, dating from the 1930s. This is an early design by Carl Auböck I, crafted in the 1930s by Werkstätten Auböck in Vienna, Austria.
This particular piece is a larger version, handmade from wood and nickel-plated brass. It is well preserved and remains in very good original condition. The roll-top glides smoothly. There is some wear to the nickel plating, which we prefer to view not as a flaw, but as a charming, age-related sign of character.
Please note: an identical box in a different size is available in one of our other listings.
