A Japanese woodblock print titled "Night Scene Peking" by Elizabeth Keith (1887-1956) 1922, The color woodblock print was made in 1922, signed in pencil lower right, initialed and dated and titled on block.
The print depicts a lively night scene on the famous street known as Peking "Piccadilly", located just outside of the foreign legation quarters. was a Scottish artist and writer. Many characters go about their life and commerce in the traditional way. A begone era in Peking captured in a snapshot of the moment.
Elizabeth Keith was a Scottish printmaker and watercolorist whose works were significantly influenced by her travels to Japan, China, Korea and the Philippines.
Sight 14 x 9 ¼”, glued down on mat 19 ¾ x 14 ½”.
