A rare and refined pair of period Gustavian side chairs from Lindome, Sweden, dating to the late 18th century. These chairs exemplify the graceful restraint of the Gustavian style, with square backs, fluted legs, and elegantly carved details throughout. The original layered green paint has been expertly dry-scraped to reveal a timeworn patina rich in history and subtle texture. Their neoclassical silhouettes are enhanced by the vertical pierced backrests, lending a sense of lightness to their formal structure. Newly upholstered in a pale, textured linen, the seats offer a clean contrast to the worn frame and a fresh usability.
