“Nothing makes sense anymore, nothing goes anymore, Everything is chaos” These bewitching lyrics of Disenchanted by French artist Mylène Farmer perfectly sum up the emotion I wanted to transcribe through this collection. It embodies a deep sense of decline, as if the world were falling apart, hanging by a fragile thread, a vision of fallen glory and inevitable collapse. To accentuate this effect, I chose solid oak as the main material, pushing its texture to the extreme. The wood has been burned and brushed repeatedly, with each step reinforcing its irregular, time-scarred appearance. The result evokes the feeling of an artifact that has gone through countless lives, exhumed from the ashes of forgotten eras. The bronze legs, as always hand-sculpted, are enhanced by a delicate gradient that gives the illusion of floating, infusing the piece with a palpable tension. Together, these elements transform the object into a visceral testimony to the impermanence of all things.” William Guillon

William Guillon is a French Designer and Art Director based in Bordeaux, focused on one-of-a-kind lightings and accessories.His work draws influence from his obsession for unconventional beauty which is reflected by radical and organic creations. His aesthetic is rooted in an innovative exploration of traditional craftsmanship aiming to push the limits of matter while maintaining a sense of strange elegance. Every single piece of work endorsed by William Guillon is handmade in France and most of them are unique or numbered as limited editions.
