In no way is this angel a cosy, fluffy white creature but a terrifying depiction of an angel that harks back to the powerful, forbidding beings of the Bible. Hovering on the canvas as if waiting to enter the room Berlin has created a talismanic figure that watches over our world as guardian and warning.
