Description
Ramsay is a New York-based artist working in abstract painting, drawing, and installation who employs a systematic, mathematical approach to translate nature's shifting colors into geometric abstractions.
Working primarily with acrylic on polyester film, she creates works that present abstracted interpretations of specific spaces and objects over time, guided by mathematical systems and inspired by Josef Albers' philosophy on color harmony.
Through her practice rooted in the Light and Space movement, the artist investigates how light, color, and perception interconnect. Working with translucent acrylic film, she produces dynamic pieces that continuously transform rather than remaining fixed. These works actively respond to both viewers and their surroundings, evolving in visual character as illumination filters through the painted surface and generates delicate shadow play. -
