Description
A charming horse and carriage model dating from the first part of the 20th century, composed of a carved wooden horse and a painted carriage set on a wooden base. The horse is hand-carved with a warm, naturally aged finish, complete with harness details that give it presence and character. The carriage is crafted in wood and painted in deep green tones, then covered with felt for texture and realism, and set on spoked wooden wheels that lend scale and movement to the piece. The entire ensemble rests on a painted wooden plinth that frames it like a small stage, allowing it to be displayed easily on a console, shelf, or tabletop. Modest in size but full of personality, it reflects the early 20th-century tradition of handmade decorative models and toys—objects made to be both admired and touched. Dimensions: 21.5” W x 9.1” H. Ready to place.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
