Description
A breathtaking embodiment of contemporary Italian artistry, this modernist Murano glass chandelier showcases a dynamic spike-form, sputnik-inspired composition. Hand-blown by master Murano artisans, the chandelier features a stunning mix of smoked amber and tobacco-toned glass spikes, radiating outward like rays of light. Created in the 20th century, this design harmonizes traditional craftsmanship with bold, modern aesthetics.
The chandelier’s smoked amber and tobacco hues create a rich, warm palette, adding an air of sophistication to any space. The textured, hand-blown glass highlights the artistry of Murano craftsmanship, with each spike offering individuality and a sense of organic movement. When illuminated, the chandelier transforms the room, casting diffused light and shadows that accentuate the interplay between the glass tones and their smoky gradient effects. At the base of each hand-bown spike is beautifully achieved faceted detailing, adding a subtle material contrast between the slightly mottled textures and the smoothly polished angles near the attachment points.
Suspended from elegant polished brass fittings, the metallic accents further elevate the design, providing warmth and contrast to the sculptural glass elements. The brass lends an understated yet luxurious touch, making this chandelier a striking centerpiece for both modern and transitional interiors.
Perfect for spaces such as living areas, dining rooms, or entryways, this sputnik-style chandelier combines functionality with sculptural drama, making it an artful statement piece. As a manifestation of Murano’s dedication to glass innovation and artistry, this is a majestic modernist design that celebrates Italian heritage with a cutting-edge twist. Newly rewired to American Standards with height that can be adjusted to suit, this fixture accommodates nine edison base bulbs achieving up to 900 watts of light. In Excellent Condition.
