Description
This exquisite Art Deco flip-top floor lamp, designed by Kurt Versen circa 1935, is a striking example of the streamlined elegance and functional innovation that defined the era. Crafted from brushed aluminum, the lamp's minimalist profile exudes modern sophistication, while its black enamel detailing adds a bold yet refined contrast to the design.
The flip-top torchiere feature allows for versatile light direction, highlighting the lamp’s practicality alongside its sculptural appeal. Kurt Versen, a pioneer in lighting design, infused this piece with an avant-garde sensibility, bringing together cutting-edge materials, geometric form, and a distinctly American interpretation of the Art Deco aesthetic.
A true collectible, this lamp not only illuminates spaces with its warm, diffused glow but also serves as a testament to the dynamic creativity of the 1930s. Ideal for adding character and historical significance to interiors, this iconic piece embodies timeless elegance with an edge of modernity. Newly rewired for American Standards, this lamp accommodates two edison base bulbs achieving up to 200 watts of light. In Good Vintage Condition.
