Luciano Frigerio bed 1970s
-
Description
Double bed with a vintage 1970s design. The style is highly sculptural and decorative, typical of designers such as Luciano Frigerio, known for his artistic use of metals. The dominant feature is the brass headboard.
It has a grid structure composed of repeated geometric elements: small shapes that enclose a square spiral or labyrinth pattern.
The metal surface is not smooth but has an irregular, “hammered” finish that gives it a textured, handcrafted look, almost like a bronze sculpture.
The side posts of the headboard end with two smooth spherical knobs at the top.
The rest of the structure is made of square/rectangular section tubular metal.
It is painted in a creamy white or ivory color, which creates a sharp and elegant contrast with the gold of the headboard.
This bed is a perfect example of the elegant “Brutalist” or “Sculptural Design” of the 1970s typical of Frigerio’s productions. -
