Description
The Doors Jim Morrison Electric Circus Screenprint Poster, 1969, New York, Framed. Large silkscreen poster featuring Jim Morrison, one of the most visually striking and sought-after posters in rock memorabilia collecting.
This is a fantasy/retrospective poster — no such performance occurred. The work was produced in the early 1980s following a surge of collector interest in The Doors after "The End" was featured in Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now. Distributed through custom frame shops, it was originally sold mounted on foam core, a condition common to all known first-state examples.
Documented in Paul Grushkin's The Art of Rock: Posters from Presley to Punk (Abbeville Press, 1987), plate AOR-3.161 — the definitive reference for serious concert poster collectors.
Professionally framed by Chelsea Frames, New York (August 2025) in a matte white wood shadowbox, floated on white archival rag mat board with 99% UV-filtering acrylic. Image: 41 W × 17 H in. Framed: 47 W × 23 H in.
Condition: Scuffing, foxing, and abrasion to Morrison's hair consistent with age and handling of mounted examples. -
