Description
Ben Seibel Orb bookends, brass. Pair of rounded sculptural, brass over white metal, bookends with cutout handles - the form resembling Turkish kettlebells. In good original condition with a warm natural patina to the brass plated finish. We added new muted pink felt to the undersides.
Seibel, after studying painting, sculpture and architecture, set up his own studio in Post- War Manhattan where he worked with a small staff until his death in 1985. He said that the study of sculpture had been one of the most important forces in his approach to design". -
