Description
This sculptural wall clock was designed by Roger Capron himself and produced in his Vallauris workshop. Made from textured ceramic, it features Capron’s distinctive engraved decoration with a poetic, almost medieval narrative quality: a female figure riding a chariot drawn by stylized horses beneath a smiling sun, framed by architectural and landscape motifs. The arched form, Roman numerals, and finely incised line work are characteristic of Capron’s personal graphic language, blending rustic craftsmanship with modernist fantasy. Subtle hand-applied coloration enhances the engraved details while preserving the natural tone of the ceramic body. The clock retains its original clock movement, which has been tested and keeps accurate time.
