“Taccia” Table Lamp by Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos, Italy
-
Description
An iconic Taccia table lamp designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, produced by Flos. Often referred to as the “upside-down lamp,” it features a distinctive blown-glass reflector bowl that rests freely on the base, allowing the light to diffuse softly upward and across the room. The interior of the bowl is finished in white to enhance reflection and provide an elegant, ambient glow.
The base, inspired by classical column architecture, is crafted in ribbed metal with a sculptural presence that contrasts beautifully with the transparency of the glass top. This piece embodies the Castiglioni brothers’ genius for transforming simple forms into timeless design.
A true mid-century design icon—both functional and sculptural—perfect for living rooms, studios, or any setting that appreciates Italian design heritage. - More Information
