Description
Exceptional looking, fully restored 18th century side chair from the so-called "Josephinism" period, named after emperor Joseph II of Austria, the son of empress Maria Theresia. Artfully handcrafted of solid cherrywood in Austria around 1790, this highly decorative antique side chair has been newly upholstered during the restoration process with a green high quality fabric, adorned by breathtaking noble floral patterns. The artfully crafted backrest is defintley a highlight and impresses with a fantastic design, additionally framed by ebonized sections. Beautifully solid, handcarved feet and a traditional hand-polished shellac finish finalizes the outstanding look of this late 18th century "josephinism" side chair, which comes in perfect restored condition.
