Antique Bergère Style Sofa in Wood, Cane and Ochre Yellow Fabric

A Bergère-style two-seater with ochre upholstery. Europe, early 20th century.

Compact two-seater in the Bergère tradition, with caned sides and carved wooden frame. The upholstery is a muted ochre, offering a wonderful contrast to the darker wood. Cabriole legs and modest floral detailing at the apron. Cushions are down-filled. Very comfortable.

A restrained piece with considered proportions and warmth in tone.
