Early 20th Century Swedish Wall-Mounted Coat Rack with Brass Hooks
-
Description
This beautifully decorated antique wall-mounted coat rack originates from Sweden and dates to the early 20th century, circa 1900–1920. Crafted in painted wood with a deep black finish, the piece features an elegant sculptural crest with softly carved scrolls and decorative flourishes, giving it strong architectural presence while remaining highly functional.
The lower section is fitted with six original double brass hooks, ideal for coats, scarves, or bags. Above, a wide shelf provides practical storage for hats or accessories, making this piece particularly suitable for an entry hall, mudroom, or dressing area. The contrast between the dark painted surface and the warm patina of the brass hardware adds depth and character.
Retaining its original charm and surface wear consistent with age, this coat rack offers both decorative appeal and everyday usability—an excellent example of Scandinavian craftsmanship from the turn of the century.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
