Description
A charming and rare small cabinet dating to the eighteenth century, crafted in France during the Louis XV period. This piece features a gracefully curved front and a distinctive gendarme-shaped top, both characteristic of the Rococo influence prevalent at the time. Executed in oak with a softly bleached surface, the cabinet presents a light, aged appearance that highlights the natural grain and carved contours of the wood.
Unusual for its compact dimensions, this cabinet is particularly scarce in this scale, making it both practical and highly collectible. The interior has been sensitively restored, with shelves replaced to ensure functionality while preserving the integrity of the original structure. Light restorations are consistent with age and do not detract from the piece’s overall authenticity.
The cabinet remains in good condition and retains a warm, expressive patina developed over centuries. Ideal for use in a bedroom, entry, or intimate living space, it offers refined eighteenth-century character in a rare and versatile format.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
