Description
Rare, beautifully restored 19th century Biedermeier writing desk out of Austria veneered in fine nutwood/ walnut. Artfully crafted in the period around 1830 in Vienna, this one of a kind, so-called "ladies desk", impresses with its fantastic arranged nutwood and walnut veneer which covers the surface of this exceptional shaped, petite kneehole desk. A real extraordinary and valuable Biedermeier writing desk which provides a large drawer in the middle and two smaller ones underneath - each on one side. Absolutely perfect for the use in in smaller spaces due it´s delicate size. Standing on four vertically veneered "stamp" feet - whereat the front legs show an inclined position, this amazing designed, early 19th century nutwood desk is definitely a masterpiece of small Biedermeier furniture. Lovely detailed brass applications and a traditional hand-polished shellac finish complete the outstanding look. Due its design it can be used as a freestanding writing desk but it would also look great as an amazing console table in your wardrobe - for example with a nice mirror above.
