Description
An incredibly powerful Art Deco figure of a Standing Warrior poised for battle, he is a picture of sheer determination and will. Wind blows his hair behind him as every muscle in his body is tensed and stretched. His feet are poised on the rock and his body is wound up, ready to leap forward into whatever battle is before him without hesitation or concern.
Images of the Warrior are an important theme brought to the stage by the artists of the Deco period. This particular image is a wonderful celebration of the hero, a man unaided by machine or invention who nonetheless stares death and defeat squarely in the eyes and poises for battle, the most unadvanced weapon in hand. A very powerful model.
The surface is beautifully finished with only the slightest texturing and minimal chiseling. It has a wonderfully complex overall verde patination with medium-browns and reddish hues throughout, all sealed in a silky wax finish.
Measurements: 30" H x 20" W x 10 1/2" D -
