Description
DANISH MODERN PETER LØVIG NIELSEN TEAKWOOD FLIP-TOP WRITING DESK
Denmark, circa 1970s
Item # 405XLG28A
This brilliant desk was designed by Peter Løvig Nielsen and originally was offered finished in teak, oak and rosewood. The present example is the soothing teak veneer.
We love with this design how Lovig utilizes a hinged shelf on the desk top that flips down, allowing the profile and working space to be flexible - flipping down the shelf allows a much larger desk space, while still allowing all of the shelves to be used for storage and organization. The flipping shelf is comfortably divided with open paper compartments, one with a removable dovetailed box and a series of letters lots. It features four drawers with molded teakwood pulls; the opposite of the desk has a few file compartments that end up being hidden from view when the hinged shelf is flipped down.
Measurements: 33 7/8" H x 28 7/8" D (when top shelf is folded up), 28 3/4" H x 38" D (when top shelf is folded down); 63 3/4" W
Condition Report:
No keys included. Surface in very good vintage condition with minor scuffs and abrasions, spots of wear and discoloration; the entire surface has been entirely re-oiled. There is a wax patch to a small loss on the writing surface. Minor paint specks. Some minor color variation from sun exposure and use throughout. Retains one original removable drawer/box. -
