English Antique Mid-19th Century Three-Drawer Glazed Chest of Drawers

$ 2,500
  • Description
    ENGLISH GLAZED THREE-DRAWER CHEST
    Circa mid-19th century
    Item # 403YEN18P-1

    A lovely English chest of drawers with three full width graduated drawers hung with ovular stamped brass hardware raised over bracket feet with an inner curved profile. The chest has a chaotic glazed surface that was probably applied during the 20th century, the superb wear throughout and vivid autumnal color of the chest making it rather eye-catching. The drawers are all hand-dovetailed in the typical manner. The size is perfect - small enough that it doesn't overwhelm a room while large enough for great practical storage. Absolutely gorgeous.

    Measurements: 30" H x 18 1/8" D x 33 5/8" W

    Condition Report:
    Later painted surface, probably 20th century; top drawer with shadows outlining the ovular pull being set in the center of the drawer; keyhole escutcheons missing; no key and locks untested; wear throughout, including light chips, discolorations and many blemishes; drawers work beautifully with smooth action in and out of the case; a great presentation, ready to place.
