Small Louis XVI Style Desk

This refined Louis XVI–style desk is crafted in blond mahogany and exemplifies the elegance and symmetry associated with the style. The desk opens in the belt with two drawers, each fitted with locks and keys in working order, offering practical storage while maintaining a clean, architectural façade.
The rectangular top is covered in original Havana leather, which remains in good condition and shows light, honest wear consistent with age and use, visible in the photographs. A brass molding frames the edge of the top, adding a subtle decorative accent. The drawers, sides, and back are further detailed with brass rod inlays, allowing the desk to be placed freely within a room.
The four fluted legs are adorned with rings at the upper section and terminate in brass shoes, reinforcing the classical aesthetic. Made in France in the 20th century, this desk is well suited for use as a writing desk or small workspace in both traditional and transitional interiors.
