Description
70.5cm high x 55.5cm wide x 60.5cm deep
Jean-Michel Franks designed his now famous tripod gueridons in the 1930s. A classic design marrying exceptional quality and demonstrating exactly the designer's mastery of perfectly balanced minimalist lines, with their tapered legs and simple ring details. The tables we executed by Comte in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Comte was founded in the 1930s by Jean-Michel Frank in collaboration with Argentinean architects to produce his exacting designs.
Jean-Michel Frank's allowed adaptations of his designs to be produced by Comte, with his approval. Combining the best of Frank and the best of Argentine tradition, these tables are exactly the same as Franks original model with the inclusion of a larger central ring, the proportion of which was taken from Franks rare 4-legged table model as made for the Palace Sans Souci.
Provenance: Ex private collection of Mo Amelia Teitelbaum, author of "The Stylemakers" and "Jean-Michel Frank - Une Aventure sud-amercaine" - More Information
