Born in 1895 in Paris, Jean-Michel Frank was a pioneering French interior designer renowned for his minimalist style characterized by clean lines and the use of luxurious, exotic materials. Coming from a wealthy banking family, Frank developed a refined aesthetic that emphasized simplicity and elegance. He launched his design career in Paris, eventually opening his own studio, where he gained notable clients including Nelson Rockefeller, for whom he designed an opulent Fifth Avenue residence in 1937. Frank's influence extended internationally, with significant work completed in Argentina and a celebrated collaboration with Hermès in Paris. Today, Jean-Michel Frank’s furniture and design continue to be highly sought after by collectors and interior enthusiasts around the world.
