Description
A refined example of Scandinavian Modern design, this circular table mirror was designed by Uno Kristiansson and Östen Kristiansson and produced by Luxus Vittsjö circa 1975.
Beautifully crafted in solid teak, the mirror features a sculptural bentwood frame with softly rounded edges that showcase the warmth and depth of the grain. The circular form is both architectural and organic — a hallmark of the Kristiansson brothers’ work — while a discreet teak peg detail adds subtle visual interest and functional stability.
The mirror is mounted on a minimalist brushed steel tripod base, creating a striking contrast between warm wood and cool metal. This interplay of materials reflects the refined restraint and material honesty central to Swedish modern design of the 1970s.
Perfect as a vanity mirror, desk accessory, or sculptural tabletop object, this piece exemplifies the balance of craftsmanship and modernist simplicity that defines the Kristianssons’ work for Luxus Vittsjö.
A highly collectible Scandinavian design object that functions equally well as art and utility.
