Description
A clean and thoughtful design by Ico Parisi, this lounge chair shows how Italian furniture moved towards lighter and more open forms in the late 1950s. Produced by Cassina, it balances comfort with a clear, architectural structure.
Design
The frame combines aluminium with warm walnut details, creating a contrast that feels both practical and well judged. Slim metal legs support the seat, while the wooden elements soften the overall look. The seat and backrest are upholstered in the original black leather, which has been restored and treated. Its tufted surface adds a subtle pattern without overwhelming the design. Parisi often worked with lightness in mind, and that shows here in the open sides and slightly angled backrest. The chair feels stable but not heavy, making it easy to place in different settings, from a living room to a quieter reading space. Seen from the side, the lines remain simple and clear, with just enough detail to keep it interesting.
A well-balanced piece that focuses on proportion and material rather than decoration. It fits easily into both modern and more classic interiors.
Condition
The condition is very good. The leather shows light, even wear and has been professionally restored, while the frame has minor signs of use consistent with age. -
