Description
Dimensions: 21 ¼” H x 16” W x 16” D
An elegant pair of late 19th century French cast iron planters in the silhouette of “Medici urns”, displaying a Neoclassical taste that has been given a unique identity by way of a painted green finish over the metal. A rim of gadrooned motif flares out over the vessel which is decorated in a tight bouquet of wheat and scrolling ivy, widening into a gadrooned midsection. The slender foot is mounted on a square plinth base for stability. Note that one of the urns has received a professional repair by a welder just at the neck. The surfaces retain much of the teal-green paint which, by age and exposure, has patinated to areas of rusty oxidation and scattered wear. In the spirit of timeless French and English gardens, the urns bring historic charm and presence to any garden, patio, or interior. Sold as a pair. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos. Please view the detailed image gallery for the current condition or reach out directly with any questions.
