Large Farmhouse Modern Dining Table in Walnut

This is my latest version of my Farmhouse Modern Dining Table in all solid, matched walnut, made to order for a recent client. The top is 10' long and 44" wide (3 boards) and 1 1/4" thick with a steep bevel undercut leaving 5/8" visible thickness around the edge. The stretcher is beveled on its faces to create a wedge shape in cross section, especially visible at its ends where it pierces through the trestle legs. The top edge has a shallow round profile as does the outer edges of the legs.

The distinctive legs angle inwards towards the center of the table at 5 degrees and are joined to the stretcher with tenons and joinery in a way that creates the 1" vertical reveal at the center of each end. A structure joined into the top of the base creates added support for the large overhangs of the top while maintaining the clean and minimal simplicity of the piece.

This table is all hand made by me with the usual attention to grain selection and matching, joinery and fine detailing.
