Description
Art Deco cabinet designed by Jules Leleu, France, circa 1935.
The rectilinear case is veneered in richly figured rosewood with a warm French-polished finish, resting on a subtle plinth base that gently curves along the front.
A tall central door is clad in parchment (goatskin), creating an elegant tonal contrast with the surrounding rosewood and framing two lower drawers fitted with original nickel-plated pulls.
The cabinet opens with two large side doors revealing adjustable interior shelving, while the central section offers additional shelves and drawers, providing generous and highly functional storage.
This piece exemplifies Leleu’s refined modernism, with perfectly balanced proportions, luxurious materials, and discreet metal details characteristic of his work for elite French interiors in the 1930s.
A versatile piece that can function as a bar, dining-room cabinet, or living-room storage, bringing authentic French Art Deco sophistication to both contemporary and classic settings.
