Description
Offered for sale is an antique threshing board, also known as a threshing sledge, which is an archaic agricultural implement used to separate cereals from their straw; that is, to thresh. It is a thick board, made with a variety of slats, with a shape between rectangular and trapezoidal, with the frontal part somewhat narrower and curved upward like a sled or sledge. The bottom is covered with lithic flakes, meaning sharp edges of stones or flints.

In the rear part there is a large forged ring that is used to tie the rope that pulls it by horses, mules, or oxen that are harnessed. The farmer, sitting on the threshing board, drives it in circles over the cereal that is spread on the threshing floor. Should the person need more weight, he would put big stones on it.

This piece has been polished and has a finish appropriate for displaying. It is wired and ready to hang.
