Description
Fun and elegant ‘Hedgehog’ plate or bowl in terracotta, (West) Germany, mid 20th century.
This is a wonderful and fun piece of terracotta pottery. Originally meant for growing cress or watercress, this bowl is a joyful piece of vintage West-German pottery. Great as a display item, or to use as a practical piece.
Wonderful details like the face with the little nose and the decorative edge on the back. The use of simple terracotta gives this bowl or plate a very natural and timeless appearance.
Bay Keramik is considered one of the most prestigious makers of West-German pottery. This piece is signed ‘Bay’ at the underside.
In good vintage condition with a few spots - as can be seen on the photos. -
