Description
Elegant French Art Deco vertical chest of drawers attributed to Jacques Adnet, executed in warm book‑matched walnut with a deep, high‑gloss French‑polished finish.
The façade is composed of four flush, slightly bowed drawers framed by softly rounded uprights and corners, creating a clean, modernist silhouette characteristic of Adnet’s streamlined aesthetic.
The chest rests on sculptural bronze‑patinated legs forming a curved plinth base, which visually lightens the piece and gives it a floating stance while echoing the gentle curvature of the drawers.
A discreet central drawer lock with small brass pull provides a subtle metallic accent without interrupting the purity of the lines. Interior storage is generous but the footprint remains compact, making this commode ideal as a bedroom, entry, or living room piece.
Recently restored, the finish presents a rich, even sheen while retaining the character of the vintage walnut veneer.
